Public Auto Auctions - The Ins and Outs

If your looking for a brand new car, but can't afford it. Check out a public auto auction,it may have just have your dream car waiting for you. Purchasing a used car through an public auto auction has its advantages.

Auto Auctions are held across the us in every state, the cars come from bank or finance companies who are trying to recoup some of there loss after a client has defaulted on there loan. And from government departments who have seized cars for various reasons.

A lot of these cars are nearly new, and you can buy some of them for 90% lower than there value. With bids starting at $100, you are almost guaranteed to get a bargain. There are all different makes and models up for auction, so there will be something there that will suit every ones taste.

Like buying any used car, you have to check it over thoroughly. Top to bottom, inside and out. As well as looking at all reports. If your not sure what your suppose to be looking at, search the internet for "used car checklist" samarins.com has a great list that you can print off. Alternatively for a small fee you can get a qualified mechanic that will go over the car for you before you start bidding. Check with the auction house if they have someone there or whether you will have to bring you own mechanic.

When you have registered and got your bidder number, and the time has come to start bidding. Just place your hand straight up in the air if the auctioneer dose not see you then wave your hand, there are people on the floor that help the auctioneer so someone will see you. You can always ask these people for help if need be. If someone else bids against you then put your hand up again, keep on doing this until the auction has finished and your the winning bid, or you have reached the maximum price you are willing to pay.

When you are going to a auto auction, apart from inspecting the vehicle that your interested in, know what your car is worth beforehand check out resources like kelley Blue Book. It may take little more time and effort going to an auto auction, but it will cut out the annoying car salespersons and save you money.

If your wanting to look at an auto auctions resource site, Gov-Auctions
has one of the largest sites for police and government auctions on the net.
